Chinese astrology differs from Western astrology. The Chinese Zodiac is based on a twelve year cycle --- each year being represented by an animal. The cycle follows the lunar calendar with the first day of the Chinese New Year that falls sometime between late January and mid February. The Chinese believe that your life is guided by the traits of the animal under which you were born. Although it is not possible for everyone born in a twelve month period to have exactly the same personality, it does provide an interesting insight into yourself and your future.
